In the pull-up you will be required to start from a dead hang, pull up without kipping, and finish by touching the bar with your neck or chest using the thumbless overhand grip. Women will be tested with their bodyweight only. Men will be required to hang a kettlebell on a foot (a weight belt is not allowed). Kettlebell sizes: 24kg for up to 220 pounds bodyweight; 16kg for over 220 pounds. Men masters (over 50 years old): 16kg up to 220 pounds; bodyweight; 12kg for over 220 pounds.
In the pistol you must be able to descend at least to parallel and come up exercising control. You may hold a counterweight. Successful performance of the pistol with one leg is sufficient.
Successful performance of the windmill, bent press, and push press with one arm is sufficient.
The jerk will be tested with two kettlebells of the size required for the snatch test.
In addition to the technique testing of the Level II exercises you will be tested on your clean and military press strength. Men will be required to press the kettlebell closest to 1/2 their bodyweight. Women will be required to press the kettlebell closest to 1/4 their bodyweight. Masters of 50 years of age and older will have a separate list of requirements.

One Arm Kettlebell Clean and Military Press Rules
- Performance of the C&P with one arm is sufficient.
- Chalk is allowed.
- The student will clean the bell with one hand.
- The student must initiate the press with the fist of the working arm below chin level.
- There must be a distinct pause following the clean during which the student and the kettlebell must remain motionless. Following this pause no downward motion of the kettlebell such as sinking into the chest is allowed.
- The student must be standing still during the entire press attempt. The knees must be completely locked during the attempt. Push pressing is not allowed. Bouncing the kettlebell off the chest is not allowed.
- Rolling the kettlebell onto the shoulder and pressing from there is not allowed.
- Moving the feet or lifting the heel(s) is not allowed.
- Excessive leaning back is not allowed.
- A slight sideways lean at the start of the press is allowed but side pressing is not allowed. Side pressing is characterized by straightening out of the elbow at any point during the attempt without a simultaneous elevation of the kettlebell.
- Pausing in the lockout in complete control, without moving, for 1sec with the elbow completely extended is required.
- The kettlebell may be lowered to the ground in any safe fashion.
If you fail any of the above tests, you will be given three months to retest with a Master RKC, Senior RKC, or RKC Team Leader. Your RKC II Instructor certificate will not be issued until you have passed all the tests. Make sure that you keep your Level I skills sharp! You may be tested on them. Should you fail your Level I basic skills test, you will not be certified as a Level II instructor even if you have fulfilled the above Level II requirements. You will not be eligible for taking another Level II course until you have retaken a Level I course.
